3 Palestinian Gunmen, Thai Worker Killed in Gaza - 2004-10-06

Three Palestinian gunmen and a Thai worker have been killed in the latest violence in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli military officials say the gunmen entered a Jewish settlement in southern Gaza early today Wednesday and were holed up in a greenhouse. They were killed in an exchange of fire with Israeli troops. A Thai farm worker also was killed in the fighting.

Earlier, local medics said three Palestinians were killed and at least 10 others, including children, were wounded by Israeli tank fire in northern Gaza. The Israeli military said its soldiers were targeting a group of militants firing anti-tank rockets from a house.

At least 75 Palestinians -- most of them suspected militants -- and three Israelis have been killed since last week, when the Israeli military began its Gaza offensive to stop militant rocket attacks.
