Seven more Palestinians have been killed in violence Saturday in the Gaza Strip, bringing the Palestinian death toll to nearly 90 in a 10-day Israeli military offensive.
In the latest incident, two Palestinians were killed when shell fire struck their house in the Jabalya refugee camp, where Israeli troops are trying to stop militants from firing rockets at nearby Jewish settlements.
Palestinians say the shell came from an Israeli tank, but the army says militants fired it at soldiers, hitting the house.
Earlier, a local Hamas commander was killed in Jabalya, and in the northern town of Beit Hanoun, two Hamas militants were killed in a gunbattle with Israeli forces.
Two Palestinian police officers also were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Khan Younis.
