At Least 74 Hurt in South Africa Train Accident

Officials in South Africa say at least 74 people were injured when two trains collided in South Africa's southern Karoo region.

Police say the accident involved the luxury "Blue Train" which transports tourists between Pretoria and Cape Town. Two Japanese passengers were among the injured.

Officials say the Blue Train was hit by the Trans Karoo express near the town of De Aar late Wednesday.

No one was killed in the accident, though some of the injuries were considered serious.

The South African Press Association (SAPA) reports the Blue Train was stationary at the time of the accident, which occurred when the Trans Karoo was diverted to the same track.
