Burmese Officials Say Suspicious Device at Rangoon School was a Prank

update

Burmese officials say the suspicious device found late Thursday at an international school was part of a prank by students.

They say two students at the International School in Rangoon left the object in a school bathroom as a joke.

Authorities closed the school Friday after finding the device, fearing it was an explosive. The school caters to U.S. diplomats and other foreigners.

On Friday, officials with the U.S. Embassy in Rangoon told VOA the object was determined to be an explosive device and it was disabled.
