McEnroe Returns to Main Association of Tennis Professionals Tour

update

American tennis legend John McEnroe once screamed at a Wimbledon umpire "you cannot be serious" during a tirade when one of his shots was ruled out. Fans may be repeating that infamous phrase when they hear that the now 46-year-old McEnroe is returning to the main Association of Tennis Professionals tour.

McEnroe is planning to play doubles at the SAP Open in San Jose in February. The event will be his first appearance on the ATP tour since 1992. He will team with Jonas Bjorkman of Sweden.

McEnroe won 17 Grand Slam titles, including 10 in doubles, before retiring from full-time ATP play after the 1992 season. He won 77 total career doubles titles, third highest in the Open era.
