On Wednesday, President Karzai visited relief camps in the region and promised food, water and new shelters for landslide victims.
Tensions have been high, with many claiming aid has been slow to reach the remote area. Clashes have also broken out with people fighting over food and other supplies.
An exact death toll is not yet known. Estimates have ranged from at least 250 killed to 2,700 dead in the landslide.
The United Nations says recent floods caused by melting snow and heavy rain have killed hundreds of people and displaced more than 70,000 others throughout Afghanistan.
