African Migrants Endure Smuggler's Abuses

African migrants traveling through the Sahara Desert, hoping to ultimately reach Europe, provide overwhelming evidence of smugglers abusing them.

An Italian doctor who treats migrants at a medical center in Milan shared these photos with VOA Africa. He wanted to expose the inhumane treatment these people endure throughout their journey. He says that women are often victims of sexual abuse.
