A bomb has killed 11 people, including some children, in the Pakistani city of Karachi.

Local officials said the blast took place after a football (soccer) game at a crowded market in Karachi's Lyari district.

An official said the attack appeared to be aimed at provincial minister Javed Nagori, who was attending the match.

Police said the explosives were planted on a motorbike parked outside the stadium and likely detonated by remote control.

Officials said the children killed in the explosion were between the ages of 12 and 15 or 16 years old.
