Boston Bombing Suspect's Body Is Buried

The body of suspected Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev has been buried, but officials are not saying where.

Police in the northeastern U.S. city of Worcester, Massachusetts said Thursday that "a courageous and compassionate individual" offered to bury the 26-year-old Tsarnaev, ending a search for a gravesite for him.

For days, a Worcester funeral home director has said that he had been unable to find anyone willing to provide a burial site.

Tsarnaev died in an April 19 shootout with police. That was four days after authorities allege that he and his younger brother, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, set off twin explosions near the finish line of the marathon, killing three people and wounding more than 250 others. Nineteen-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was captured a day later and now faces a charge of conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction.

With many people angered by the bombings, officials in Boston and nearby Cambridge, where the older Tsarnaev lived, said they did not want him buried there.
