A Dutch aid worker has been freed after 81 days in captivity in Afghanistan.
The Dutch Foreign Ministry said Thursday that Anja de Beer was "doing well under the circumstances."
De Beer told Dutch broadcasters that her captors treated her well during the last three months.
De Beer is an experienced aid worker and has worked with various humanitarian agencies in Afghanistan since 2000. Four armed men kidnapped her in Kabul on June 22, but it was not known who held her or why.
The reasons for her release were also unclear.
