Egyptian Court Sets November Trial for Morsi

Ousted Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi is set to go on trial next month on charges of inciting violence and murder.

A court on Wednesday set November 4 as the trial's start date.

Along with Mr. Morsi, 14 members of his Muslim Brotherhood will go before the criminal court.

The charges stem from deadly clashes between Brotherhood supporters and opponents in Cairo late last year. Authorities say seven people were killed in the violence.

Egyptian security forces have detained Brotherhood officials and cracked down on the group along with supporters of Mr. Morsi since the army pushed him from power in July.

Since then, more than 1,000 people, mostly Islamists, have been killed in the clashes.
