Reports from Florida say the FBI has shot and killed a man with suspected links to the Boston Marathon bombings.
The incident occurred in the city of Orlando. A local newspaper, The Orlando Sentinel, said a friend had identified the dead man as 27-year-old Ibragim Todashev.
The friend told local media Todashev was being investigated as part of the Boston bombings and knew suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were martial-arts fighters.
The FBI said only that one of its agents was involved in a shooting incident in Orlando.
Tamerlan Tsarnaev died in a gunbattle with police a few days after the Marathon bombings. He was on a U.S. government database of potential terrorism suspects and the United States had been warned by Russia that he might be an Islamic militant.
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is being held on charges he acted with his brother in the twin blasts that killed three people and injured 264 others April 15.
