Egyptian officials say a bomb has exploded near a public bus in Cairo, wounding at least five people.
Investigators say the Thursday explosion occurred near a busy intersection.
The driver of the bus, Adel Abdel Fattah, described what he experienced.
"While I was driving the bus, an explosion hit the bus and all of the bus windows were smashed and four people were injured, including one in serious condition."
Egyptian officials say it is possible that explosives were planted near the route the bus travels. They also say security officials found and defused a second bomb that had been attached to a nearby billboard.
Interior ministry officials say the bombs were meant to "terrorize people."
On Tuesday, some 15 people died in the Nile Delta city of Mansoura after a police headquarters was bombed. A hardline Islamist group based in the Sinai has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The group, Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, said the suicide car bombing was a response to the government's crackdown against Islamists.
Ansar Beit al-Maqdis has previously taken responsibility for bombings in Sinai and the September attempted assassination of Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim in Cairo.
The Muslim Brotherhood, which the government designated as a terrorist organization this week, has condemned that bombing.
