Four Ethiopian athletes who disappeared after competing in a track meet in the northwestern U.S. state of Oregon last week have been found safe.
Police say they found three of the runners in the town of Beaverton and the fourth staying with a friend in a town in the neighboring state of Washington.
It is not clear if the Ethiopians are seeking asylum in the United States.
The four competed in an International Association of Athletics Federations championship at the University of Oregon last week.
