France charged three women Monday with involvement in a terrorist conspiracy in connection with what authorities say was a thwarted plot to blow up a car near the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris.
The three women, aged between 19 and 39, were detained last week after the discovery of a car with gas canisters inside.
Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve called them "radicalized fanatics" who were preparing "imminent actions."
Authorities say they believe the women were inspired by calls from the Islamic State group to carry out attacks in France.
