U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will officiate at a same-sex wedding Saturday.

She is believed to be the first Supreme Court justice to preside over a same-sex marriage.

She is officiating at the wedding of longtime friend Michael Kaiser, who is the president of Washington's Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and government economist John Roberts.

Ginsburg, who is 80, was one of the five Supreme Court justices who voted in June to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act, which prevented same-sex couples from many of the rights enjoyed by heterosexual couples. The law was overturned in a tight 5-4 decision.

The wedding will be held at the Kennedy Center.
