American movie star Leonardo DiCaprio wants to help the tiger population of Nepal.
His Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation has awarded a $3 million grant to the World Wildlife Fund to work with the Nepal government on protecting the animals.
The WWF said Thursday the money will be used for an initiative to double the number of tigers in Nepal by 2022 -- the next year of the tiger in the Chinese zodiac. The actor, known for starring roles in Titanic and The Great Gatsby, said he's "hopeful" the money will help "exceed the goal."
The DiCaprio Foundation aims to protect the environment and preserve Earth's natural resources and wildlife.
