The Nasdaq stock market has resumed trading after technical problems shut down the exchange for three hours.
The exchange restarted trading at about 3:30 pm local time . Nasdaq had sent an alert out to traders shortly after noon local time Thursday saying trading was suspended until further notice due to problems with its system that distributes stock price quotes.
Customers wishing to cancel orders were allowed to do so while the exchange was down.
