Russia and the United States have pledged to work together more closely on counterterrorism efforts following the Boston Marathon bombings.
The White House and the Kremlin have issued statements saying the two leaders spoke by telephone Saturday, following the capture of the surviving Boston Marathon bombing suspect, ethnic Chechen Dzhokhar Tsarnaev late Friday.
The Kremlin said Russian President Vladimir Putin repeated his condolences to U.S. President Barack Obama regarding the loss of life in Monday's bombing. The Kremlin said Putin also wanted to discuss ways the two nations can work more closely together on security.
