The academic year typically begins in August or September (for schools on a semester schedule, which is most schools), and applications are likely to be due in January.
Some schools may also have an early admissions process, for which you would send your application in the fall (usually in October) and be notified about your admissions decision in December.
In addition, some schools use a "rolling admissions" process, which means that they select applicants as the applications come in rather than collecting them all on a deadline and then selecting from the entire pool of applicants.
For TOEFL scores, it will vary depending on the school. EducationUSA says that a good guideline is 88-100 for the internet-based test (equivalent to 230-250 in the computer-based test and 570-600 in the paper-based test) as the minimum score for graduate studies.
Harvard Business School's website says: "The MBA Admissions Board discourages any candidate with a TOEFL score lower than 109 on the IBT, an IELTS score lower than 7.5, or a PTE score lower than 75 from applying."
1. When does the academic year begin in the United States, especially Graduate programs, when can an international student apply, how long before the academic year begin?
