The Taliban have released a video displaying the only U.S. soldier held captive in Afghanistan.

The video released Wednesday shows Specialist Bowe Bergdahl who has been held by the Taliban since he disappeared from his base in Paktika province in eastern Afghanistan on June 30, 2009.

The U.S.-based IntelCenter, a private organization that monitors Taliban media, reports that a second man who appears in the video is a Taliban commander who once threatened to kill the soldier.

This is the first time Bergdahl has been seen in a video since April 7. He appeared in two similar videos in 2009.

Separately, two NATO servicemembers were killed on Wednesday following a Taliban attack in southern Afghanistan. NATO has not disclosed the identities of the soldiers or details of how they were killed.

The Associated Press reports that the Afghan Defense Ministry on Wednesday condemned a NATO airstrike on Tuesday that killed two Afghan soldiers and wounded three others.

NATO is reportedly investigating the incident which took place in Logar province in eastern Afghanistan.
