The UAE and Israel have agreed to normalize relations in a deal brokered by the United States. The “Abraham Accord,” announced in early August, was contingent on Israel halting its plans to annex Palestinian territory. Former senior advisor on Arab-Israeli relations to six US secretaries of state, Aaron David Miller, now senior fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, joins Hussein Ibish, senior resident scholar at the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington, to discuss the many ramifications of this landmark agreement and to preview the September 15 signing ceremony in Washington with host Carol Castiel.
