AGRICULTURAL INITIATIVES Pt 1 Overview

Researchers from an international NGO, the Worldwatch Institute, have spent the past two years traveling through 25 countries in sub-Saharan Africa. Their mission was to uncover the region’s agricultural success stories...no easy task, since, to many in the rest of the world, sub-Saharan Africa is synonymous with agricultural failure. Experts estimate that 265 million people in the region are chronically hungry. But the Worldwatch team has revealed various African agricultural innovations that could help alleviate global hunger in the near future. Darren Taylor reports.
