VOA China 360: What's Behind China's Unusual Removal of Christian Church Crosses?

A new U.S. State Department report on religious freedom is criticizing Chinese authorities for removing Christian church crosses in the eastern province of Zhejiang. It expresses concern about more than 1,500 crosses being removed from Zhejiang's Protestant and Catholic churches since 2013. The U.S. criticism is drawing new attention to the unusual Chinese campaign against churches. VOA's Michael Lipin asks Loyola University Maryland professor Carsten Vala to explain it in this week's podcast.
