US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is to return to Pyongyang Sunday (Oct 7) for talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un A US State Department spokeswomen said the U.S. has not changed its policy and will maintain a regime of international sanctions until the North denuclearizes. In contrast, North Korean foreign minister Ri Yong Ho told the U.N. last week maintaining sanctions only deepens the North's mistrust of the U.S. and would not disarm unilaterally. He said Pyongyang had taken 'significant goodwill measures,' such as halting nuclear and missile testing and dismantling a nuclear test site with no response from Washington.
