Science in a Minute 111218 NASA Parker Solar Probe Gets Close to the Sun

NASA reports that its Parker Solar Probe recently brushed past the Sun, getting to within 24 million kilometers of its surface. Mission Control at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab says it received a status beacon signal from the spacecraft, after its close solar encounter, indicating that all is well with the solar probe.
