Science in a Minute 012419 Study Suggests Greenland Ice Melting Faster than Thought

A new study published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Science suggests that surface ice in Greenland (mostly located within the Arctic circle) is melting faster than had been thought. According to study authors this accelerated ice loss could lead to a faster rise in sea level.
