Science in a Minute 032919 Rivers May Have Flowed in Torrents Across Ancient Mars

Scientists at the University of Chicago, in a new study, say they found evidence that suggests that not only did water once simply flow across Mars, but at times may have done so in powerful torrents. The study proposes that this intense river flow was due to persistent and substantial runoff that existed in the early history of the Red Planet. The scientists also say that the ancient Martian rivers were wider than those on Earth.
