It’s no secret that dogs have a phenomenal sense of smell. A newly released study suggests that a canine’s sense of smell is so acute that it can differentiate between a normal, non-cancerous blood serum sample and one that was taken from a patient with malignant lung cancer. The study authors say their findings could lead to the development of accurate, inexpensive and non-invasive cancer detection methods.
