10 Dead In India Floods

Indian officials say at least 10 people have been killed in eastern India from floods caused by three days of torrential rains.

Local authorities in West Bengal state say tens of thousands of victims were cut off by the flooding. The rains also affected Kolkata. Eastern India's main trading hub was flooded for a second day after the city's drainage system failed to cope with the water.

Officials say more than 300 millimeters of post-monsoon rain have fallen over the last four days.

The unseasonable rains came after the June-September monsoon, which this year triggered severe flooding in other parts of the country.
