Aussie Cyclist Wins Giro's 10th Stage

Australian cyclist Robbie McEwen has won the 10th stage of the Tour of Italy in a sprint finish, but Italian rider Danilo Di Luca retains the overall lead.

McEwen, of the Davitamon-Lotto team, completed the 212-kilometer stage in 5:29:21 hours, just ahead of Alessandro Petacchi of Italy. Another Australian, Cofidis rider Stuart O'Grady, was third.

The victory was McEwen's third stage win in this year's Tour.

Di Luca did not finish in the top 10 but maintains his overall lead, 0:09 seconds ahead of countryman Ivan Basso. Another Italian rider, Paolo Savoldelli of the Discovery Channel team, is third overall, 0:35 seconds behind Di Luca.

The race continues Thursday with a 150-kilometer stage (from Marostica to Zoldo Alto). The Tour ends May 29 in Milan.
