England Holds Aussies to 190 All Out in Ashes Cricket Test Match

Australia's cricket team has been bowled out for 190 on the first day of the first Ashes Test match against England at Lord's in London.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat first, but the world champions struggled to counter fast bowler Steve Harmison. The English bowler took five wickets while allowing only 43 runs.

Justin Langer was the top scorer for the Aussies, managing only 40 runs before being caught out.

Australia has won the five-match series the past eight times it has taken on England, dating back to 1989.

The series dates to 1882 when Australia defeated England at the Oval in London. The next day, London's Sporting Times Newspaper lamented the death of English cricket and said the body would be burned and the Ashes sent to Australia. Since that time, the winning team receives a replica of an urn that originally contained ashes made from a wicket.
