Kim Clijsters (l) and Russia's Svetlana Kuznetsova
U.S. Open tennis champion Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia has ended Kim Clijsters' 17-match winning streak by beating the Belgian in the semifinals of the J&S Cup tennis tournament in Poland.

Kuznetsova overcame a first-set loss to beat Clijsters in three sets, 2-6, 6-2, 6-3.

The Russian takes on another Belgian - former world number one Justine Henin-Hardenne - in the finals Sunday. Henin-Hardenne scored a straight-set win over Serbia-Montenegro's Ana Ivanovic 6-4, 7-5.

Henin-Hardenne and Kuznetsova have met six times before but never on clay. Henin-Hardenne leads the head-to-head match up, 5-1.

The clay-court tournament is one of several events players are using to prepare for the second major tournament of the year, the French Open, which starts May 23 in Paris.
