There seems to be a growing wave of change in America when it comes to minorities, black and brown people and Native Americans who have long been marginalized. The U.S. Supreme Court ended its term last week with an opinion that recognized about half of the state of Oklahoma as Native American reservation land, overturning a tribe member's rape conviction because the location where the crime was committed should have been considered outside the reach of state criminal law. The decision means much of the eastern part of Oklahoma is legally considered reservation land where more than 1.8 million live.
