The entire solar system is protected from interstellar radiation by the heliosphere, a huge bubble that’s inflated by the Sun’s magnetic field and energy from the solar wind. Scientists at the US Department of Energy’s Los Alamos National Laboratory report that they created the first 3D map of the outer edge of this bubble (and the solar system itself), called the Heliopause. The scientists say they used data from NASA’s IBEX satellite that was gathered over an entire solar cycle – 2009 to 2019.
