Jordan has taken a strict, proactive approach in its management of the coronavirus crisis, closing the Middle Eastern country’s borders more than 2 weeks ago, when it imposed a quarantine for all last arrivals. People who dare to run afoul of the government’s curfew face one-year imprisonment and fines of a several hundred dollars. Jordan’s leaders say they want to protect its citizens, the many refugees it shelters and foreigners living in the country of some 10 million. For VOA, Dale Gavlak reports from Amman.
