A team led by astronomers at the Carnegie Institution for Science report that they have discovered five new exoplanets. Among them are two “super-Earth” planets that orbit their host stars in their so-called habitable zones, where it’s possible to have liquid water on its surface. They are said to be 7.5 to 7.9 times more massive than of our planet. Also found was an exoplanet described as a “super cold” Neptune-like planet. It was found to orbit its host star from a distance at which surface water is likely to be frozen.
