10-11-13 DBA BUTTY - GUINEA ELECTIONS - OPPOSITON

GUINEA’S OPPOSITION SAYS IT FEELS VINDICATED BY INTERNATIONAL OBSERVERS REPORT THAT THERE WERE "IRREGULARITIES" IN LAST MONTH’S LEGISLATIVE ELECTION. REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE UNITED NATIONS, UNITED STATES, FRANCE AND THE ECONOMIC COMMUNITY OF WEST AFRICAN STATES SAID IN A JOINT STATEMENT EARLIER THIS WEEK THAT THE IRREGULARITIES KEPT A "SIGNIFICANT NUMBER" OF VOTES FROM BEING CONSIDERED, BRINGING THE RESULTS INTO QUESTION. SIDYA TOURE, LEADER OF THE OPPOSITION UNION OF REPUBLICAN FORCES PARTY TELLS ME THAT THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY MUST NOW SUPPORT THE OPPOSITION CALL FOR A NEW ELECTION.
