Wounds Still Open, 30 Years After India's Gas Disaster
Protesters in India have marked the 30th anniversary of a gas leak disaster in the central Indian town of Bhopal that killed more than 3,000 people. Activists say 25,000 others have died in the aftermath, and that many other people continue to suffer physical and mental consequences from the poisoning. Zlatica Hoke reports the protesters want Union Carbide, now a subsidiary of the Dow Chemical Company, to be held fully responsible.
